WHAT WE DO

Community Contributions

  • Sponsor and manage monthly Senior Bingo at the Lincoln Senior Center, and sponsor their annual Christmas Party
  • Sponsor the Phoenix High School Prom with the Rotary Club held at our Clubhouse and made a monetary donation towards their prom
  • Sponsor two Chamber of Commerce Breakfasts annually
  • Letters to Santa, volunteers write reply letters to Santa
  • Bazaars/Craft Fairs at our Clubhouse and the proceeds fund scholarships to Senior women at the local High Schools
  • Monetary contribution to Lincoln High Sober Grads as well as a Raffle Basket for their Bingo Night
  • Volunteer at the Senior Health Fair by donating cookies and at a food booth
  • Provide volunteers at rest stop for the Rotary Tour de Lincoln
  • DLA Trick or Treat on the Plaza and Cake Walk donation
  • Warm Coat Drive with Assistance League of Greater Placer
  • Monetary donation to Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource Center for Raffle basket and attend their Annual Celebrity Waiter Fundraiser
  • Monetary donations:

    • Saltmine
    • Kiwanis Literacy Hub
    • Placer County Sheriff’s Annual Material Drive for Children
    • Rotary in honor of their 100 year anniversary
  • Toys for Tots collection
  • Donate Gift Cards every Christmas to the Lions Club for teenage Christmas gifts

January

  • January 27 - Potluck and Volunteer Forum

February

  • February 11 - Bingo at McBean Pavilion – Fundraising event. Come out and support our Club! It’s really a fun time, Dessert Auction and great Raffle Prizes
  • February 24 - General Meeting - Sean Scully, Lincoln City Manager, will share exciting news about Lincoln, its growth and plans for more retail businesses coming to Lincoln.

March

  • March 24 - General Meeting - Jason Price will provide a CPR demonstration and will have a few High School helpers.

April

  • April 28 - General Meeting - Cassidy Taganucci from the Placer County District Attorney office to speak to us about scams, fraud and how to protect ourselves.

May

  • May 1 - Phoenix High Prom - We open our Clubhouse to sponsor with the Rotary Club the Prom for Phoenix High School
  • May 7 - Woman's Club of Lincoln Giving Day - We open the Clubhouse so you can make your donation there
  • May 9 - Mother’s Day Tea - Wonderful tea and fashion show - we sell tickets for this event.
  • May 26 - General Meeting - Gary McDonald from Stand Up Placer to talk about the important work they do: Domestic Violence program, Human Trafficking program, Housing program and more.

June

  • June 23 - General Meeting - Victoria Curtis from RRUFF Healing Heroes to tell us about how their organization supports and empowers disabled veterans and first responders through canine assisted therapy.

July

  • July 28 - General Meeting - Let’s have a good old fashioned Ice Cream Social to help us beat the summer heat. The speaker this month will be Captain Faddis from the Lincoln Fire Department to talk to us about safety and fire prevention.

August

  • August 25 - General Meeting - Member Appreciation Luncheon. This is where the Board provides the food for this meeting to show our appreciation to our wonderful members.

September

  • September 12 - Purse Party - Lunch, Silent auction and Dessert auction. An opportunity to get a cute purse and have good food and good fun!
  • September 22 - General Meeting - Time for another Potluck, so bring your best dish to share. Our speaker will be Jeri DiFiore to talk to us about MS or Muscular Dystrophy and how it can affect women.

October

  • October 3 - Bazaar-Craft Fair - Come to the Clubhouse to check out the creative vendors we will have lined up for your buying pleasure and find some beautiful Fall décor.
  • October 27 - General Meeting - Time for a Halloween Party. A costume contest will take place and I’m always amazed at the creativity of our members. Nominations for officers/Board members will be taken for the election at the November General meeting.

November

  • November 24 - General Meeting - Lisa Taylor will be our speaker to talk about Emergency Preparedness. This is valuable information and she will bring examples of how to prepare. We will be voting and swearing in the new officers/Board members.
  • November 28 - Christmas Bazaar-Craft Fair - Come out to shop for those Holiday gifts and see the wonderful and creative crafts these amazing vendors sell!

December

  • December 15 - Cookie Exchange - No general meeting in December as we are all pulled in many directions. This is a fun event, bring your favorite cookies, exchange with other great bakers and enjoy singing your favorite Christmas songs with a sing-a-long led by Board President Nancy Dunavent and her husband.
  • December 16 - We will again host the Holiday Chamber Netmixer at the Clubhouse. An evening of Holiday cheer, great food and fun raffle prizes. Santa will definitely make an appearance.
